Sir David Attenborough nasceu a 8 de Maio 1926. Para seus colegas e amigos é uma espécie de moderno Charles Darwin. Para nós, espectadores, um narrador surpreendente de histórias que conhece o Planeta, como ninguém. A sua beleza, a vida selvagem e a natureza virgem.
David Attenborough, naturalista, é já uma lenda da BBC, onde começou a trabalhar na década de 50. Mais propriamente em 1954, lançando uma série chamada Zoo Quest, que envolvia animais filmados em cativeiro, mas também na natureza.

Ocupou diversos cargos de direcção e administração até ao final da década 60, altura em que começou a dedicar-se aos programas sobre Natureza e Meio Ambiente. Programas a preto e branco, na altura.
E é daí que lhe vem a fama e é admirado por todos nós. Hoje, aos 95 anos, continua muito activo e quer produzir um programa especial sobre animais que brilham no escuro.
Para celebrar o 90º aniversário de David Attenborough, um dos mais famosos especialistas em libelinhas, ofereceu-lhe um presente muito especial. Uma libelinha azul que passou a ser conhecida como Attenborough.

And now to celebrate his 95th birthday, BBC presents It's Sir David Attenborough's 95th birthday today! He was born the 8 May 1926, in London.
He grew up in quite an urban environment, but showed a real love for nature and all things outdoors by the age of seven. He enjoyed collecting things like fossils and stones and ended up with a pretty impressive collection.
David later went on to study natural sciences at Cambridge University. The subject looks at different aspects of science including physics, chemistry, geology and biology.
"The broadcaster, naturalist and all-round living legend is celebrating another year. He's been helping people develop a greater appreciation for the world around them throughout his epic career.

To celebrate the 90th birthday of Sir David Attenborough, the BBC Earth Unplugged teamed up with the legendary Aardman Animations, creators of Wallace & Gromit and Creature Comforts, to bring three very special animations featuring iconic moments from Sir David's career.
